Do I need an account to use Piksi?

No. Piksi works entirely without an account. All your data stays on your device. An account is only needed if you want to save and sync your data across devices.

Does the app need an internet connection?

Definitions, spaced repetition, and word capture work offline. Translations require an internet connection. Premium users can download a full offline dictionary.

What are the paid features?

A paid plan unlocks spaced repetition, progress stats, streaks, and cloud sync across devices. Pricing details are available in the app.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests should be directed to the respective store following their refund policy.

How does spaced repetition work?

Piksi uses a proven spaced repetition algorithm. Words you capture come back for review at increasing intervals. If you remember a word, the interval grows. If you forget, it resets. After a few weeks, words stick.

How does the tap-to-define work?

Point your camera at any text and tap a word. Piksi uses on-device OCR and an offline dictionary to show you the definition instantly. Everything happens locally on your phone — no data is sent anywhere.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstall the app to remove all local data. If you have an account, go to Settings and tap "Delete Account" to permanently remove your account and all synced data.

Can I switch devices?

With an account, your data syncs to the cloud. Sign in on your new device and everything will be there. Without an account, data is local only and cannot be transferred.

What languages are supported?

Piksi supports English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese dictionaries and translations. Chinese and Japanese are available in beta.
